Bring your own camera

You don't need special equipment, and we don't supply cameras. Your camera must be able to stream to Twitch. Here are the setups that work:

Phone or tablet (easiest, most flexible) — Download the free Twitch app, log in, and start a stream from your device. Costs nothing beyond the device and you can move it between rooms or nights.
Action camera with RTMP (GoPro, Insta360) — Good for a dedicated camera that's set up and left in place.
USB webcam + laptop running OBS — Free software, works with most webcams you already own.
PTZ camera with RTMP support — If you want pan and tilt control.

Note: Ring, Wyze, Nest, and Arlo home security cameras will NOT work. They can only stream inside their own apps and cannot send a stream to Twitch.

You control everything. Start and stop the stream whenever you want, and point it wherever you want.
